October 26, 2026: Vedanta has won two offshore blocks in the Krishna Godavari (KG) basin under the government's fourth round of Discovered Small Field (DSF) bidding, bolstering its exploration portfolio along India's east coast, with the contracts signed in New Delhi in the presence of Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
The blocks comprise one shallow-water asset, KG/OSDSF/G1/2025, and one deepwater asset, KG/DWDSF/GD10/2025.
The awards are expected to support the company's efforts to explore untapped hydrocarbon resources and expand its offshore operations.
Jim Johnny Gast, interim Chief Executive Officer and Whole-Time Director of Vedanta Oil and Gas Ltd, said the company aims to increase production to meet India's growing energy demand and reduce dependence on imported oil and gas.
