October 9, 2026: Honeywell Technologies has been picked by Nigeria-based multinational Dangote Group, through its affiliate Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE (DPRP), as preferred contractor to supply crude oil processing technology for the planned 16-billion crude oil processing plant located in Kenya's coastal town of Lamu.
The company will supply crude oil refining process technologies, licensing, engineering services, proprietary catalysts, equipment and digital solutions for the 700,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Dangote East African Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals refinery project expected to be the world’s largest single-train refinery when completed in 2030.
DPRP has also picked Indian firm Engineers India Ltd for the $450-million project management and engineering, procurement and construction management contract for the refinery, billed as the largest-ever foreign direct investment for Kenya.
