September 19, 2026: Petronet LNG Limited approved the incorporation of a 50:50 joint venture with Gruner Renewable Energy Private Limited to establish 10 compressed biogas (CBG) plants, involving an estimated capital outlay of ₹12 billion.
The Board of Directors sanctioned the proposal during its meeting held on September 17, 2026. The new entity will be structured as a Private Limited Company.
Joint venture details
The partnership aims to deploy renewable energy infrastructure across India. Each of the 10 planned CBG plants will have a capacity of 18 metric tonnes per day.
