July 27, 2026: India's growing backlash against the rollout of E20 petrol is showing no signs of slowing down. What began as scattered criticism from enthusiasts and owners of older vehicles has now evolved into an organized citizens' movement, with multiple groups rallying around the issue.

The latest development comes from Team Bharat, which has announced a peaceful road rally titled 'Gaadi March, Gandhi March', scheduled for July 31 in New Delhi. According to the organization, the march will begin at India Gate, pass the residences and offices of Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Hardeep Singh Puri, and conclude outside Parliament Street.

Team Bharat says the event is not intended as a confrontation against the government or the ethanol blending programme itself. Instead, it describes the rally as a peaceful demonstration seeking greater transparency, consumer choice and solutions for owners of older vehicles affected by the transition to E20 fuel.

In its press release, Team Bharat has laid out six demands. These include restoring the availability of E10 petrol for vehicles designed to run on it, reducing the price of ethanol-free (E0) petrol, offering a 20 percent discount on E20 fuel, making all policy documents related to E20 publicly available, finding solutions for pre-2023 vehicles that may be affected by E20 petrol, and addressing what it calls a conflict of interest involving Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Participants have also been encouraged to display slogans such as *"Meri Gaadi, Mera Adhikar," "Meri Bike, Meri Choice,"* and *"Our Vehicles. Our Choice. Our Right."* Team Bharat says only issues relating to fuel and ethanol will be discussed during the rally.
